Application of esthetic concerns in the management of shortleaf pine or any species should be predicated on a systematic approach. Many mitigation techniques are available, but those selected will need to be carefully tailored to the specific situation and to the unique characteristics of plant communities and landforms involved. Some additional costs should be anticipated by forest managers who are commited to manage all natural resources. The growing use of computer technology will lead to increasingly sophisticated application of computer graphics to resolve resource conflicts
